In the groundshot shown directly above (click to enlarge image), you can see the clump of trees (Furze Knoll) adjacent to Morgan's Hill.  Below this you can just make out the design that appeared in Rape here (see picture below) on 24 April (although the field is now green as all the rape flowers have gone).

Bishops Cannings (2)

This is the second formation to appear in this area near Bishops Cannings on the outskirts of Devizes.  It can be seen clearly from the main road leaving Devizes towards Marlborough (A361) on the opposite side to Bishops Cannings village, and very close to the an earlier formation in Rape at Morgans Hill.  It appears to be approx. 300ft in diameter and is laid in Barley.

Report

There is no denying the obvious in this formation.

Based on '3' with obvious fish symbols.

There are echoes of earlier 2009 formations in this design including the three fold central shape made from 3 moon crescents (moon crescents have been seen in many formations this year), and the 28 outer circles are split into 4 groups of 7 circles descending in size.

The descending circles have been a common theme this year if you look back through the formations of April, May and early June, and the number '7' has also appeared to be significant in many of the designs.
