Knoll Down

We had a phone call at 9am on Monday 1 June from Andrew Pyrka who with his friend Paul Jones had been  searching the fields of Wiltshire during the night, convinced that 1 June would bring a formation.

As they abandoned hopes of finding a new design, they headed for Windmill Hill to re-visit the formation that was reported there on 25 May, and lo and behold, they discovered this formation in Barley at Knoll Down (near Beckhampton).

Report

Another qunituplet (the four small circles in the centre linked by a ring) design - this shape is once again showing up in many 2009 designs (just as it did in 2008).

The larger circles on the outskirts are seemingly being held by moon crescents.  Each one of the larger circles has a small amount of crop left standing depicting a tiny dot from the air.  Similarly each of the smaller circles has small areas of standing crop left placed symetrically within the circles.  From above these look like eyes, making the circles themselves look like small snake heads, with the ring of the qunituplet making the snakes bodies stretching out behind them.

Last year (July 2008) a basic quintuplet design was found very close to the site of this formation in Wheat:
