Workshop: Michael Glickman - The Geometry of Crop Circles
Venue: Alton Barnes, Wiltshire MAP
Date: Saturday 15 June 2013
Time: 14.00hrs - 17.00hrs
Bring your paper, pencils & ruler and enjoy a masterclass from the most well-known
crop circle geometer there is! A good set of compasses will also be required for you to have accurate results (these we cannot supply for everyone, so please make sure you have your own). Michael will explain the hidden patterns behind the designs we see in the fields and show us the complexities behind the creation of even the simplest shape.
No mathematical knowledge needed! It’s a fun workshop for all!
The cost of this workshop is £18 for WCCSG Members and £20 for Non-Members
which covers the cost of the hall and Michael’s time.
Please book for this workshop at the ticket shop or by emailing or calling the office.

Talk: Fred Swift - The Wiltshire Bee Keeper
Venue: Alton Barnes, Wiltshire MAP
Date: Wednesday 11 September 2013
Time: 19.30hrs
The Wiltshire Beekeeper is a jolly Bee Keeper who spends his days travelling around the country looking after his bees, collecting swarms, giving talks and selling honey products. In this talk Fred will demonstrate the advantages of the old fashioned practise of beekeeping, the importance of the bee in nature, the problem with pesticides and the downside of modern methods.
All our talks, workshops and activities are organised to spread information that we believe is informative and helpful. Subjects which help us learn about the past in order to understand the future. Our group and its trustees receive no profit from our activities or from the sale of our calendar. Our publications and programme are planned for the enjoyment of our members and the wider public and the funds we raise help us to continue offering them. Please support our group! If you are not already a member – membership can be bought from the membership shop
