VISITING CROP CIRCLES: Many farmers are happy for visitors to investigate crop formations on their land. Some are now trying to generate donations to act as some compensation for damaged crop. We at the WCCSG have actively encouraged this as it helps visitors experience what is happening in our fields with no fears of trespass. We ask that if you visit the formations where farmers are collecting, and therefore welcoming visitors, that you donate as requested (and suggest £2 per person - this is what we ask of all participants of our guided visits).
CODE of CONDUCT:
This Code of Conduct was drawn up by the National Farmers Union in collaboration with the Centre for Crop Circle Studies. In the interest of good relations between researchers and land-owners, we ask you to take note of its contents. Please note that in any cases where the WCCSG are offering official trips into the circles, we will always have gained the permission of the landowner and will collect a small fee from each member of the tour that will be donated directly to the landowner.
Do not go onto private land unless you have permission from the farmer or landowner. If you can't find the farmer or landowner to ask permission-you have no right to enter private property.
If you cannot find the farmer do not enter the field.
If you wander into a formation without permission and a farmer catches you, do not argue with him if he wishes you to leave his land.
Always use gates or stiles to enter fields, please do not climb fences.
Always close gates after passing through them.
(depending on whether it was closed beforehand; one should leave it in its prior state.)
Do not take your own vehicles into the fields.
Cause as little damage to standing crops as possible.
Always use the tramlines to access to the Crop Circles.
Avoid making a track from an obvious point, i.e. gateways.
Walk in single file using the same track to get to the Crop Circle when remote from tramlines.
Do not take dogs into fields.
Do not leave objects or litter behind.
DO NOT SMOKE ON ANY ACCOUNT IN A CROP CIRCLE OR WITHIN A CORN FIELD.
